Trona on the Web: 2010 THS All Alumni Reunion

It’s time again for the Trona All Alumni Reunion in Trona this Homecoming, October 22-23, 2010.

The large, rented, communal tent behind the Elks Lodge and the VFW was such a hit last time, we will be having it again this year. The tent will serve as the central site for socializing by all alumni throughout the weekend. As usual, the festivities begin Friday night (Oct 22nd) with the coronation ceremony and bonfire, followed by a no-host reception at both the Elks Lodge and the VFW. Saturday daytime activities include the Lions’ pancake breakfast, Homecoming parade, a catered deep pit bar-b-que lunch/social at the high school, and the football game. Saturday evening fun includes dancing at both the VFW (DJ) and the Elks Lodge (live band), and catered heavy hors d’oeuvres in the reunion tent. Commemorative tee shirts, sweatshirts, caps and visors are available for purchase via this registration.

Here's the tentative schedule of events for the weekend: (the final schedule will be included in your reunion/souvenir packet)

Friday, October 22nd

7:00 pm Coronation in the School Auditorium
8:00 pm Bonfire and "T" lighting
Car Rally to the No-host Reception at the Trona Elks Lodge and VFW
 
Saturday, October 23rd

6:00 am Lions’ Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Citizens Center
8:30 am Board the Reunion Floats at the Trona Library
9:00 am Homecoming Parade 10:00 am Social and Catered Lunch at the school (lunch will be served at 11:00)
2:00 pm Introduction of Homecoming Court followed by Varsity Game
6:00 pm Social hour at the Elks Lodge and VFW
7:00 pm Heavy hors d’oeuvres served in the reunion tent followed by dancing, etc. at the Elks Lodge and VFW

Reunion tee shirts & hats: Souvenir tee shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and visors can be ordered when you sign up. These souvenirs will NOT be available for sale during the reunion weekend, so buy them now! Souvenir packets will be available for pickup at the Reunion tent from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday night and continuing after the parade on Saturday at the high school. Also, you may order souvenirs whether or not you attend the reunion.

Float: Please be at the Library by 8:30 Saturday morning for final adjustments to the reunion

Motels: Some of the hotels in Ridgecrest are offering discounts for the Trona Alumni. Be sure to ask when you make your reservations. Here is list of some of the hotels: Hampton Inn & Suites, 760-446-1968; Springhill Suites by Marriott, 760-446-1630; Carriage Inn, 760-446-7970; Heritage Inn, 760-446-6543; Comfort Inn, 760-375-9731; Vagabond Inn, 760-375-2220; Motel 6, 760-375-6866 or Best Western/China Lake, 760-371-2300. RV parking will be available at Valley Wells at no cost. (Hotels in bold offer discounted room rates; however, the Hampton Inn and the Springhill Suites will not give you the discount until you check in. Their discounted rate is $109/night). The Trona Pinnacle Inn is also open, 760-372-5795.
