Janet’s husband, Rick, left a message on Facebook telling us Janet has passed away. Jant is the daughter of Onace Long who played so many rolls in the Trona Unified School District.

Actually the post was from me, the friend she called “Cary”. But not important—just wanted her classmates to know. Janet and I met and formed a 50+ year friendship while students at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. We worked together, traveled together (oh the adventures! 😄), and had more than enough fun together. I miss her already. But she had been in failing health for several years and now all her pain and disabilities are gone and she is with many family members in Heaven.

I was saddened to hear of Jan’s passing. She was always so sweet when I knew her in Trona. I taught swimming lessons for three summers with Onace, her father. She was special in his eyes. During the past few years we had been in touch through FB and private messaging. I missed her posts and was informed of her death. I send heartfelt condolences to her family.
